Robert Coifman, MD

Dr. Coifman is Board Certified in Allergy & Immunology by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology and a fellow of both the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology and the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology. He has chaired national scientific committees and served as national scientific meeting continuing medical education teaching faculty for both societies. His published case series has the best statistics in the peer-reviewed English language medical literature for keeping hospital “frequent flier” asthmatics out of hospitals and emergency departments, eliminating asthma as a limiting factor on their quality of life and reducing their total asthma-related cost of medical care. To meet the needs of a group of his severely allergic patients he created the only poison ivy allergy vaccine in the world that made that allergy go away in 90% of vaccine recipients. He is currently applying for NIH funding to make it commercially available.
Dr. Coifman is an engineer by pre-medical training. The thoroughness of his engineering approach to problem-solving has made his practice a trouble-shooting resource for solving and reversing the problems of other physicians’ treatment failures.
